Did you know? The world 3000 years from now will be a world completely covered in water. Water everywhere, vast expanses over fields, cities submerged in water, mountains and deserts flooded, ice melting across the seas, covering the Earth's surface. Storms, hurricanes, tornadoes raging day and night in the sky, towering waves, dark and gloomy skies, thunder and lightning, people dying in masses, and animals drifting dead in the water. A foul stench fills the air. Do you know why? All due to the hands of humans!
The world's industrial development is powerful, causing rapid climate change. The burning of fossil fuels such as oil, coal, and gas over the years has released a massive amount of CO2 into the environment, causing a rapid increase in global air and sea temperatures. Factories release toxic chemicals into rivers and oceans, severely harming marine life. Examples include:
- In Japan, from 1932 to 1968, the Chisso chemical factory directly discharged untreated wastewater containing mercury into Minamata Bay and the Shiranui Sea. The consequences lasted for 36 years, causing seizures, paralysis, and death in those affected. Nearly 2,000 people died, and 10,000 were affected. Pets also went mad and died, and the sea was covered in dead fish.
- In China, the Jilin industrial chemical company discharged 114 tons of mercury and 5.4 tons of methylmercury into the Songhua River from 1958 to 1982. Mercury poisoning appeared in 1965, and it was estimated to take decades or even 100 years for mercury levels in the Tung Hoa River to return to normal.
- In the US, in December 1999, the Guide automobile light factory in Anderson discharged about 1.6 million gallons (over 6 million liters) of toxic wastewater, destroying aquatic life along a 90 km stretch of the White River and killing 4.6 million fish.
- In 2010, the BP oil rig explosion caused the Deepwater Horizon oil spill off the coast of Louisiana, affecting over 400 species in the area. Five years later, oil levels in the Gulf were still higher than normal, causing congenital heart defects in fish and premature death.
- In Vietnam, in April 2016, the Formosa steel company released toxic waste that killed marine life along the central coast (from Ha Tinh to Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue). Preliminary estimates include 115 tons of dead fish, 140 tons of farmed fish, and 67 tons of dead oysters. 40-60% of coral reefs were also damaged.
The average global temperature will increase year by year, decade by decade... Eventually, the polar ice caps at both ends of the Earth will completely melt, causing the sea level to rise dramatically, submerging cities, villages, mountains, and more. If you're familiar with the fairy tale of “Mountain God – Water God” battling for decades, with Mountain God eventually winning, in the year 3000 everything will change. The Mountain God will be defeated, and the high mountains will bow down to the powerful Great Water of the Water God. The world will experience a complete ice age, with the Earth freezing within 100 years, the atmosphere disappearing, the ozone layer vanishing, and solar radiation melting and destroying everything.

Show the potential dangers of environmental destruction, the threat to life from pollution.
