Fix error 0x00000709 Operation could not be completed, when you update KB5006670

Microsoft's October security update for Windows 10 caused an error on the client computer when connecting the shared printer over the LAN.

When accessing the shared printer, the machine will give an error: Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000709). Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network. To fix this error, we can:
 

Method 1: uninstall the October update

Open Control Panel click Programs and Features click View installed updates, Uninstall the latest Windows update, specifically the Security update for Microsoft Windows (KB5006670). Then restart the client, the problem should be solved.
 

Method 2: Copy the win32spl.dll file to the client

Copy the file win32spl.dll version 10.0.19041.1237 to the folder C:\Windows\System32. To overwrite this file, you must start the computer with a USB Boot (Win PE) and proceed to copy and replace the existing file.
